FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 26, 2015 Cape Coral, FL — Congressional candidate April Freeman (FL-19) chose today, ‘Women’s Equality Day’ to announce the ‘National Organization for Women’ has endorsed her 2016 race against Curt Clawson.
The National Organization for Women, a non-partisan organization determined to elect officials who are committed to the advancement of women’s rights.
The National Organization for Women was established 49 years ago using the slogan; “Taking Action for Women’s Equality Since 1966.” NOW PAC Chair, Terry O’Neill said, “Because of April’s continued dedication to women’s equality, we are pleased to endorse her candidacy.”
NOW PAC selects their Federal candidates carefully through a stringent screening process that starts in the candidate’s home state. This endorsement is not April’s first from NOW PAC -- last year during the unexpected 2014 Congressional Special Election NOW PAC jumped right in. Again, for the November 2014 Mid-term election, the National Organization for Women put their support behind Freeman.
“This momentous endorsement not only makes a powerful statement about my determination to make a difference, it also ensures we have access to the National Organization for Women’s influential network and resources, while bringing attention to a race some might ignore” said Freeman. “I am so proud and thankful to have an organization like NOW behind me, they are exemplary in supporting the advancement of women’s rights.”
The National Organization for Women’s endorsement is only one of several Freeman has already received for her 2016 campaign, including one from Florida Senator Dwight Bullard as well as Democrats Advancing Progressive Action in Congress.
