Hanukkah Greetings

Friends,

This evening, many of you, our friends, our families and loved ones will begin celebrating the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

Hanukkah is a festival sometimes referred to as the Festival of Lights.

The festival affirms Jewish people of the determination and ultimate triumph of rededicating the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, allowed only by the courage of our forefathers.

Hanukkah signifies the importance of possessing the strength to stand up for what we believe is right even if others disagree or work to oppress us.

Hanukkah commemorates Israel’s fight for freedom from the ancient Greeks.

As Americans we are blessed to have so much and we have our freedom, this must not to be taken for granted.

Let's continue to stand strong with Israel in their ongoing fight for freedom and battle for peace.

I'm wishing all Jewish Floridians a happy and joyous Hanukkah.

May you always have peace,

April
