Once again, our nation mourns...

To honor the memory of the victims, family and loved ones of the tragic on-air shooting yesterday morning, I think it's imperative we address the tragedy responsible for taking the lives of two young and dedicated journalists in Virginia while they were working at a job they loved.

This heinous act will not only impact the families and loved ones of the victims, it is guaranteed to effect a multitude of lives.

Far too often in recent years, we as a nation have been forced to cope with these unbelievable acts of violence.

Once again, our nation mourns...

We the People of this nation, mourn for young and promising souls extinguished at the hands of a mentally unstable gunman.

We the People of this nation, must find a way to end senseless gun violence.

We the People of this nation, deserve to feel safe in our homes.

We the People of this nation, deserve to feel safe in public.

We the People of this nation, deserve to feel safe in our workplace.

We the People of this nation, deserve to feel safe in our place of worship.

We the People of this nation, deserve the peace of mind, knowing our children feel safe and more important are safe at school.

In Congress, I will work tirelessly to combat these unspeakable acts of violence because I will representWe the People.

May there be peace,

April
