Fort Myers, FL — Congressional candidate April Freeman (FL-19) announced today that the influential women’s organization the Women’s Campaign Fund has endorsed her.
The Women’s Campaign Fund, a non-partisan organization, is dedicated to dramatically increasing the number of women in elected office who support a full women’s agenda. Florida has 27 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and women hold only 6.
Women’s Campaign Fund Political & Programs Director, Clare Bresnahan made the following statement:
“We are proud to endorse a strong leader like April,” said Bresnahan. “Her common-sense attitude and dedication to women and the elderly are just what we need in Washington.”
The Women's Campaign Fund is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
“This significant endorsement ensures we have access to the Women’s Campaign Fund’s powerful network and resources, and will bring more attention to a race already in the national spotlight,” said Freeman. “I am so proud and thankful to have an organization like the Women’s Campaign Fund behind me that does so much to support women in the political arena.”
The Women’s Campaign Fund endorsement is one of several endorsements Freeman has received including ones from the Lee and Collier County Democratic Committees as well as Democrats Advancing Progressive Action in Congress.
