"A bare majority of the Supreme Court has held that profit-making corporations have religious rights that trump their employees’ opportunity to contraceptive care. This decision is a defeat for working women and a defeat for rational family planning. The people who will suffer as a result of this decision are not people looking for a handout, but working women and families who do not want to have more children than they can afford; women who work for profit-making corporations that want to evade their responsibility to their workers.
With that said, the court left a crack open in the door for Congress to repair this injustice. If I am elected in November, I will sponsor legislation to do just that--repair this injustice.”
